I made it to Florence, Italy alive, well, and on time!
Flying out of Chicago had its issues with -50 degree weather set to hit within 24 hours of my departure. For these weather reasons, I was delayed by two hours. However, my flight was so empty that I got a row of three seats to myself for the eight hour journey and I still made my connecting flight! Good things do come to those who wait!
I have been here three days and while it has been rainy for the majority of it, I am already in love with this city. There are unlimited amounts of cafes, gelaterie, historical buildings, leather everything, cobblestone, and so much more. My apartment, roommates, and others I have already met are all great! School orientation meetings have not even put a damper in anything, they have only made me more ecstatic to start classes on Monday. This journey has just begun, and I am ready for what is ahead!
Trust me there will be more pictures to come but for now, here is all I have for you. Haven't wanted my phone to get rained on!
(I'm thinking I may need a separate gallery specifically for all the food I am going to be photographing..stay tuned)
